The game was released on Xbox One on 19 September 2019 and PlayStation 4 on 18 February 2020.  In the game Hunt: Showdown, the players take up the role of a bounty hunter. The bounty hunter in the game has to ill a mythical monster so that he can claim the bounty and survive for a longer duration to reach an exfiltration point. 

What is the game about?

Savage monsters roam around the swamps of Louisiana and you as a player become a part of the group of rough bounty hunters. The bounty hunters are all set to evict these terrific monsters from the world and they would be paid generously in return.  The bounty hunters are even given a chance to buy powerful and gruesome weapons to fight the monsters heroically. Death and failure will take you away from both the gear and the character. Hunt: Showdown is a game of high-stakes and tremendous thrill.  It is a first-person shooter game that offers an online multiplayer experience. Your job in the game is to knock down the nightmarish monsters while you compete for bounties. The bounties will help you with gear, gold, and glory. 

Gameplay

Originally, the game Hunt: Showdown was developed at Crytek USA who wanted to create a spiritual descendant of Darksiders. After Crytek USA was shut down because of some financial issues, the game was developed at Crytek headquarters in Germany.  The shooter game is multiplayer, a player from the perspective of the first person. The player has to play as the bounty hunter who knocks down the mythological monsters instead of bounty. The player gets an option to work on the game alone or he can involve up to two more players to find the clues about the monster’s location in different maps.  Players can use various weapons like crossbows and shotguns to defeat their rivals. There are three monsters at the launch, which include an assassin, a giant spider, and a butcher.

High tension, risk, and reward 

PvP and PvE elements are used to create match-based gameplay. It creates a tense situation where the character and gear are on the line. If you can succeed, you are rewarded generously but a single mistake can cost away your Hunter character and the gear.

Progression 

You will be able to progress in the game even in death through your Bloodline. If one character dies, their XP would be transferred to your Bloodline and it can be applied to your other Hunters. If you die, you will lose everything but the XP would be transferred to your Bloodline and will be reduced to half.

Dark sight 

The feature of Dark Sight allows the hunters of the game to watch into the veils of the different worlds. You would not be able to see them with the mortal eyes, as they are visible to them who have been initiated. Use the feature when you track monsters and a ghostly light would guide you towards your target.

Multiplayer 

As the match of the Bounty hunt begins, up to 12 players are set out to track the monsters. Depending on the team option and made that you have chosen, these 12 would include solo players or teams of two/three.  The competitive and clever twist in the game of Hunt: Showdown has made it promising and distinctive from the other shooter games. When the player is always engaged in hunting down the dangerous monsters, escaping death from the rival hunters, and creeping along the dense forest it gives a realistic approach.
