What is the game about?
If the player does not disapprove of some recurrent exploration and estranging humour, then owning this mind-boggling adventure on their portable sounds like a good idea. The game is enormously inspired by old school styled dungeon-crawlers that may not be acceptable for some. The protagonist of the game, aka Daniel, and his journey throughout this game follows a fundamental formula: holding each key, there are eight guardians in total. The main goal of this game is for Daniel to reach the top of the tower where the Dark Master is waiting and to do that, he has to confront each guardian and complete the subsequent level for each key to unlocking the next level. Daniel is possessed by a dark spirit that wants to escape from its prison inside Daniels body. The dark spirit cannot control Daniel but can only communicate with him.
Gameplay
Unepic is deemed to be a Metroidvania and role-playing platformer game and encompasses numerous RPG elements including equipment, levels and skill points. It is heavily inspired by similar games such as Maze of Gallous and MSX and possesses non-so-particular non-linear gameplay. A few restricted locations can permit crafting for potions that the player can use to his or her advantage. Merchants are present throughout the game convinced that the player is a monster who is possessed.

Rooms
The game has two hundred rooms that the player can choose from although; each room has to be unlocked by completing challenges. The player can go back and repeat any level with a particular room of their preference at any time.
Killing bosses
As mentioned earlier, the game has seven bosses (Drakonius, Momoko, Dynidon, Leviathos, Arbolus etc.) and the objective is for Daniel to kill all seven of them to get to the Dark Master, Harnakon, the ultimate boss of the game and the master of the castle and kill him to free the spirit trapped within him that wants to escape.
Many weapons to choose from
Depending on which level the player is in, he or she can unlock different weapons such as armours, ranged weapons and melees corresponding to their respective level.
Diverse enemies
He is confronted with various enemies on his way including a lab full of golems, a crypt of the undead, goblins etc. The game follows a very basic combat style: run and jump.
Interactive dialogues
The game is packed with over two thousand lines of witty and clever dialogues with various references regarding pop culture to keep you glued to your seat.
Pets with superpowers
The game comes loaded with pets that can be gradually unlocked with the completion of each level. Each pet possesses a set of superpowers and can assist the player through his journey to defeat the dark master. A rather dark twist to pokemon, it seems.
Achievements
The game consists of a worldwide leaderboard. After every completion of tedious and long challenges, Unepic points are rewarded to the player which can be used to purchase some chucklesome and powerful equipment such as rocket launchers, flame throwers and laser guns. If the player loves hardcore dungeon crawlers, this game is a must-play for them. Overall it’s a fun and interesting game to play with interactive dialogues and a diversified storyline with numerous combat skills and defence techniques. The best thing about this game is you don’t have to be alone while playing, your friends can play along with you too as it consists of a multiplayer mode.
